Here in the UK we have been so lucky these last few weeks. After months of rain and flooding, we have been blessed with long days of sunshine and warmth, and the whole world has opened up to greet it. We have even had a family of dolphins visit our northern shores and put on shows for the visitors! The beaches are full of holiday makers, and ice cream salesmen couldn't be happier.
In the sunlight anything seems possible. In the brightness of long summer days all problems diminish and opportunities seem more likely. The living really is easier.
We love the light.
All unwanted things shrink in its presence.
Where the light shines there is comfort, strength and a clear view . We can see where we are going, and we can see where we have been. Light... From the twinkling of distant stars dotted across a midwinter sky, to the blazing intensity of our midday sun, we follow it like sunflowers... turning our heads to sense its presence. We feel sad at the sunset, and hopeful at a new sunrise. We are tied to the light. We resonate with it. And if it is to be believed, we ARE it! All of us shine, all of us glow.
Some people seem to have an intense luminosity about them... it is hard to quantify, but it's there. When you see them, it is just like the sun coming out, and your eyes want to follow them. They truly radiate beams of light that touch everything.
Babies shine. Like little stars, in they come, to light up our worlds with their perfection. When we see them, we light up too - even the most miserable person finds it hard not to brighten at the sight of a little infant.
We need to shine. We need to let our light glow out into the world - not let it be covered by judgment and fear, or by thinking we are not worthy.
Like little suns we are. Smile and light up. :-)
